In this comprehensive 6 day, 3 session course, you will learn an effective, reproducible SYSTEM for triage and treatment of TMD and Sleep Disorders. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to diagnose and treat basic TM Dysfunction and Sleep Disorders.

Session 1 covers:

* Sleep, Pain, TMD...the Connection
* Functional anatomy of the TMJ
* Neuro-anatomy
* Electro modalities for diagnosis and objective evaluation of treatment
* Clinical examination
* The process of neurotransmission
* Muscles of the head and neck
* Radiology
* Demonstration of neurologic examination
* Phonetic bite registrations
* Advanced radiographic interpretation
* Case presentation

Session 2 covers:

* Basic concepts of pain
* Accu-Liner
* Principles of pharmacology
* Headaches
* Anesthetic diagnostic/therapeutic injection blocks
* Recapturing discs
* Radiology
* Indications and contraindications for various types of splints
* How to translate the bite registration to the Accu-Liner and finalize the bite

* Working with other professionals

Session 3 covers:

* Differential diagnosis of various craniomandibular disorders
* Arthrocentesis
* Physical therapy modalities
* Exercises for the TMD patient
* Differential diagnosis ascending/descending problems
* How to build a TMD/orofacial/pain practice
* How to go from Phase I rehabilitation to Phase II permanent stabilization
* T-scan (computerized evaluation for timing and force of occlusion)
* Relationship between orthodontics and TMJ
* Case presentations
* Phase II Ortho and Restorative
