Douglas Smith, DDS, FAACP
Dr. Douglas Smith hails from the East coast. He received a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1973 from Wagner College in Staten Island, New York, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He served as a practicing chemist and won special chemistry awards prior to attending New York University Dental School from 1978 to 1982. Dr. Smith completed his General Dentistry Residency at University Hospital in New Jersey and established a private practice in Manalapan, New Jersey in 1983. In 2005, he moved cross country to join the TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre in La Mesa, CA. Dr. Smith has more than 2,000 hours of continuing education with a concentration in TMD, Craniofacial Pain and Sleep Disorders. Dr. Smith was awarded Fellowship status in the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain in 2005.
Linda A. Lukacs, RN, BS, DDS
Dr. Lukacs is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry. She holds an RN diploma from Huron Road Hospital School of Nursing and a Baccalaureate of Science degree from Cleveland State University. While at NYU, Dr. Lukacs was the recipient of the Goldberg Pediatric and Orthodontic Award and an inductee into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Dr. Lukacs has enjoyed teaching in a variety of capacities, in nursing and dental hygiene, and is currently Professor of Dental Hygiene at Southwestern College. From 2005 - 2007 she volunteered with UCSD Pre-Dental Society and held the position of Assistant Clinical Professor, Voluntary, with UCSD. She is a member of numerous professional and academic associations as well as CE Co-Chair for the San Diego County Dental Society where she currently serves on the Board of Directors. Dr. Lukacs has devoted years of continued education to the fields of TMD, Craniofacial Pain and Sleep Disordered Breathing.
